File Recovery program never runs through the whole deleted file scan. It always stops about a quarter of the way trough.

Customer Question: # 1

Hello my name is xxxx xxxx. I bought your file recovery software about 3 weeks ago and it has not worked.

I have been exchanging emails with the applesoft support team. They keep asking me to send information regarding the problem with the software several times, and I am still waiting for them to solve the problem or to just tell me what it is. The purpose for me using the software is now redundant.

Support Answer: # 2

You'd better tell us details on what problem you are having with the software, otherwise we don't know how to assist you to get it work, thank you.

Hi, the program never runs through the whole deleted file scan. It always stops about a quarter of the way trough.

What may be the possible problem when the scanning procedure stops about a aquarter of the whole way?

Support Response: # 4

Hello-

I had our tech send a debugger build of the software that would capture more information for us, and looking at the log that came back, it looks like the user is trying to scan for lost partitions on the system drive - which appears to not have any lost partitions and then the request looks to be closing normally. Then we sent out the below instructions and I have not received any further log files back yet.

-----------

Please find out what kind of data they are looking for and how it was lost? Find out what scan steps they are taking and what other applications are possibly running at the same time.

One more thing - console output would also be a good thing to have. Here are the instructions you can send them to get me the console output.

1) go to your Utilities folder - in Finder, you click Go and then Utilities.

2) select the Console application by double clicking it.

3) click on Clear icon or go to View and then Clear Display in the upper menu on the screen).

4) select All Messages in the Console window (on the left side of the window)

5) leave the console running off to the side

6) Start and run FILERECOVERY and let it run until the error happens.

7) go back to the console and save a copy of the log to a file and email that to me.

Thanks
