I put in my USB cord that connects to my Olympus camera to my Mac laptop. no files found after scanning.

Customer Question: # 1

I set up the activation. Then I put in my USB cord that connects to my Olympus camera to my Mac laptop. Then I clicked on the scan. And it is saying that 0 files are found. I formatted my camera accidentally about two months ago. And have not used it since. Is this program going to find the formatted pictures on my camera? Am I doing it right?

Thank you for your help,

Support Answer: # 2

Hello-

Some cameras do a complete and destructive format - writing zeroes to the data are on the card rather than a simple delete operation. In the case of your Olympus camera, it sounds like this is the case. A way to test this would be to use another known good card, and take some sample pictures. Then format it in your camera and try photo recovery on that card. If you get the same result, then your camera does a destructive format and that data is not recoverable.

Thank you
