How to remove the software of Mac File Photo Recovery and reinstall it

i
removed the software and reinstalled it. i got to
the window where it asks me to put in my activation number.
i assumed the activation number is the same
as the license number, which is a series of numbers and
letters, which was sent to me in an email. nothing
said "activation number" in the email.
i put this in the box and was told it is
invalid. i tried just the numbers, i tried removing
the dashes. nothing worked.
what am i doing wrong?

Hello-
In order to activate the software, the customer needs to click on the
link in the activation dialog, fill out the form on line and then
request their activation code. This code is what needs to be typed into
the activation window of the software, then click Activate Now. It looks
like they are entering their serial number into the activation box
instead of the activation code they get by using their serial number.
