File Recovery for Mac takes too much time to scan, should I cancel the "Save the List" and go directly to saving the files?
| Customer Question: |
# 1 |
I purchased AppleXsoft File Recovery for Mac yesterday. I am trying to
recover a large volume of files. The file recovery software took a good
deal of time to find everything I had inadvertently deleted
(understandable, given the size of the files), but then it crashed and I
had to do another search. I thought I would save the list. After
waiting two hours, I decided to go home and let it run overnight, but when I
came in this morning it was still going.
Is this to be expected?
Should I cancel the "Save the List" and go directly to saving the files?
Should I save a group of files and then another group, etc?

If you are trying to do too much then you can run your system out
of resource. What I recommend is to run the scan, and save off the
folders/groups of files one at a time. Do not try to save the list, as
this only creates a list of files. They can do that after they save the
files. The list is only a basic log file of what was found.
